The NGO ‘Responding to Climate Change’ (RTCC), official observer to the United Nations at the UN Bali Conference, have recognised the positive action taken by Explore's carbon offsetting initiative.
Explore, is the first sizeable tour operator to include the offset its customers' flights in the cost of their tour packages.
Ashley Toft, Explore’s Managing Director said, " We are thrilled to have had this recognised, and to have been invited to contribute an article in the RTCC report on Climate Change for the UN Bali Conference”.
For a company like Explore, who take the environmental and social aspects of their trips seriously, the decision to include the cost of the offset in all their trips is a logical step. Not only are they making real emission reductions on behalf of their customers, they’re also funding green technologies in the very destinations to which their customers are flying. For example, Explore will be funding an innovative renewable energy scheme in Pune, Maharashtra in India.
