The Co-operative Bank works with ClimateCare as positive proof of its ethical approach to the mortgage business.

For every mortgage sold, the Bank offsets one fifth of the household's anticipated CO₂ emissions with ClimateCare. It will continue to do this over the lifetime of the mortgage, at no cost to the house owner.

The Bank are offsetting the CO₂ emissions on behalf of their customers through the following projects:

• The funding of a local Madagascan organsiation that runs training courses on how to build fuel efficient stoves;
• The funding of wind turbines in India;
• The reforestation of the Kibale national park in Uganda;
• The funding of local household energy efficiency measures in Pakistan.
