ClimateCare holds a great number of projects at any time in addition to those shown on our website. If you are interested in offsetting carbon emissions for your business of over 2,000 tonnes please contact ClimateCare to discuss creating a bespoke project portfolio. For clients that offset through our website we choose a selection of projects each year to form our online portfolio.

ClimateCare currently has over 50 projects across the developing world, funding low carbon technologies that bring social and environmental benefits to many people. You can view specific information on some of our past and present projects using the links below.

Argentina biomass
New high pressure biomass boilers generate steam to power an Argentine sugar mill
Brazil biomass Nobrecel
Carbon emissions have been reduced through the installation of a new biomass boiler and turbine which replaced the original oil fired boilers and also reduces the plants electricity consumption from the grid.
Brazil fuel switch
Replacing the use of fossil fuel oil with waste renewable biomass at the Rima Industrial Plant, a metal alloys factory.
Brazil Saldanha Hydroelectric
Grid-connected small hydroelectric project in Brazil's Northern Region.
Cambodia stoves
Replacing the traditional Lao stove with a new efficient version which delivers considerable emission reductions, reduces harmful smoke in the kitchen. This project has transformed the market.
Changbin and Taichung
The project involves the development of two wind farms in Taiwan. The project comprises 42 (for Changbin) plus 20 (Taichung)1 Enercon E70 wind turbines, each having a capacity of 2.3MW. At full capacity, the aggregated output of the project is expected to be of 483,864 MWh/year, which is to be delivered to the state-owned power grid, Taipower. Accordingly, the project will lead to carbon dioxide emission reduction since it will avoid the use of fossil fuel in the electricity generating system.
China CGN Gansu wind
This is a grid-connected renewable power project that utilises the wind to generate renewable electricity to supply energy into the Gansu Gird, an integral part of the Northwest China Grid.
Chitradurga Wind
India’s electricity grid is highly carbon intensive with the majority of power generation coming from fossil fuels. It is therefore of utmost importance to promote clean energy generation and energy efficiency in India using the incentive of carbon finance to enable projects which would otherwise not have happened
Ghana Stoves
Most families in Ghana cook with charcoal in a metal grate or ‘coal-pot’ that burns inefficiently. This project replaces the coal-pot with an efficient insulated stove, known as the Gyapa. Careful fuel consumption tests undertaken as part of the baseline study showed that the Gyapa reduces charcoal consumption by 25%.
India Bagasse
Renewable bagasse replaces approximately 1,500 tonnes of furnace oil every year at an Indian paper factory
Kenya Water Filters
This project has distributed nearly a million LifeStraw Family units in rural Kenya. These units will treat contaminated water and reduce the need to boil water with non-renewable biomass.
Khatauli biomass
Waste bagasse, the fibre left over after the sugar manufacturing process, is used to fuel power and heat generation in Uttar Pradesh.
Mani micro-hydro
Overcoming the high cost of water-powered renewable power plants in China, the Mani Hydro Power Station runs off the Yinhe River, Sichuan Province.
Mulan wind
The Mulan wind farm generates emission reductions by reducing the amount of electricity that would have been generated by conventional fossil fuels.
Muling Wind
The Muling wind farm will create emission reductions as well as local employment in the area during the design, assembly and installation of the turbines.
Nahar biomass
Renewable biomass is used to generate clean electricity for both domestic and industrial users, meeting the growing demand in India.
Orb solar
Powering homes and businesses through solar hot water and electric installations.
Phulpur Farmers
This project is based at the Phulpur Fertiliser plant in India which is run by a local farmers’ cooperative. It involves a number of conversions and installations in various pieces of technology to enable a switch from naphtha fuel to cleaner natural gas.
Qingdao wind
The project will improve air quality and local livelihoods and promote development in the renewable energy industry.
Rainforest restoration
ClimateCare previously funded the re-establishment of Kibale National Park rainforest with 30 or so native species of trees.
Saihanba wind
The Saihanba East Windfarm Project generates renewable electricity using wind power resources.
Shandong Tuoji wind
Tuoji Island Wind Farm assists in stimulating China's grid-connected renewable energy technologies
Thailand Biogas Kitroongruang
Is an anaerobic digestion project, which creates 20,500tCO2e per year by treating wastewater from a cassava processing plant in Thailand.
Tikri Composting
This project will avoid methane emissions from the anaerobic decomposition of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in a landfill site through controlled aerobic decomposition in a windrow composting process. This process will also result in compost as a product that can be utilized as organic fertilizer for agricultural purposes.
Treadle pumps in India
The treadle pump allows farmers on the plains of India to grow crops all year round rather than wait for the monsoon.
Turkey Wind - Rotor Eletrik
The project is based in Turkey and consists of 54 wind turbines providing a total installed capacity of 135MW. It's certified to the Gold Standard because of the sustainable benefits it provides
Uganda efficient stoves
Our Gold Standard Uganda stoves project supplies two types of high efficiency wood burning stoves to families in Kampala, improving their health and income.
