Now a part of JPMorgan's Environmental Markets group, our innovative origination team provides advice and support to companies and project developers in emerging markets to create emissions reduction credits from projects that successfully reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The team has considerable experience and knowledge in developing and executing projects in many sectors including renewable energy, municipal waste management, industrial gases, energy efficiency and forestry.
JPMorgan's sales team is dedicated to meeting the needs and requirements of clients by providing environmental products and advisory services that address regulatory and emissions trading compliance risk, which is now being selectively extended into the voluntary market.
The team has dedicated experts based in London, New York, Washington DC, Sydney, Tokyo, Mumbai and Santiago.
Biographies
Bruce Tozer, Global Head of Environmental Markets
Bruce is responsible for building JPMorgan's global capability in the environmental markets sector across origination and sales. He has in-depth experience in carbon emissions, commodities, structured trade and commodity finance, commodity derivatives, emerging markets project finance and corporate M&A. He is actively engaged in policy development for the carbon market and sits on a number of boards and steering committees including Her Majesty's Treasury Carbon Markets Experts Group; the Carbon Markets Association (CMA) and the European Supply Chain Institute (ESCI). In addition, Bruce is a member of the Clean Energy Investment Framework Working Group coordinated by the World Economic Forum and the World Bank.
Mike Mason, Managing Director - Innovation
Mike founded Climate Care in 1997 pre-Kyoto and
since then the company has become a market leader in the origination,
development and retail of voluntary and compliance carbon offsets,
pioneering methodologies and project standards in a number of areas and
supplying everyone from consumers to some of the world’s largest
brands. Mike also founded Biojoule, previously Climate Care’s sister
company developing radically new biomass technologies.
Odin Knudsen, Strategic Advisor and Business Development and Global Head of Origination
Based
in Washington DC, Odin is responsible for global business development
and origination of carbon assets for Environmental Markets. Prior to
joining JPMorgan in 2007, Odin spent 27 years at the World Bank where,
among other things, he was head of the World Bank Carbon Fund and a
senior adviser in sustainable development. He gave policy and project
advice to governments in Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle
East, managing carbon funds of $1.8 billion and active projects of $1.2
billion. As such, he brings valuable experience in emerging markets and
financial markets including expertise in trade, rural and agricultural
policy, natural resource management and project evaluation.
Edward Hanrahan, Executive Director
After a career starting and developing
international businesses and units in the online world, as a senior
executive for brands such as BA, Microsoft, Expedia and
OTC/Lastminute.com, Edward joined the Climate Care team in early 2007
as Group Chief Operating Officer to bring his substantial commercial
experience in developing new products and managing fast growth
companies in emerging markets.
Tom Morton, Executive Director
Tom, formerly Managing Director of Climate Care,
now works on the origination team, based in Kenya, with a global remit
to originate and develop emission reduction projects – both voluntary
market and CDM. He has been a major player in building the market for
high quality, credible offsets in the UK. Now based in Nairobi, Tom
joined Climate Care in 2000 following a Master's degree from the
Environmental Change Institute at Oxford University, and has 6 years
experience of developing and managing carbon reduction projects.
Kedin Kilgore, Head of Environmental Markets, Americas
Based in New York, Kedin is responsible for the carbon origination business for the Americas and Asia in addition to overseeing the sales and marketing for US energy and environmental markets. He has extensive experience in carbon and renewable energy credit trading, risk management, market pricing, forward dynamics, the emerging markets and energy policy development at governmental and corporate levels.
