Aviation Sector

The global aviation industry produces around 2% of all human-induced carbon emissions1. And the sector's carbon footprint is expected to rise. By 2030, demand for oil could drive aviation's share of global carbon emissions to 3.5% and, with limited progress in scaling sustainable biofuels, industry leaders must take steps to reduce their climate impact now. We can help you neutralise your carbon emissions as changes in legislation and technology are implemented.

Why act now?

We must reach Net Zero by 2050 and halve global emissions by 2030 if we are to prevent catastrophic climate change. Although the coronavirus pandemic massively reduced commercial aviation, there has been an unprecedented surge in concern about the environmental impact of our flying behaviour2. 70% of people now believe action on climate change should be the aviation industry's top priority - an 18% increase in comparison to a few years ago3. The time to capitalise on low carbon opportunities is now; as the sector works through operational barriers in scaling sustainable biofuels, carbon offsetting can provide your customers with an effective and straightforward solution to taking responsibility for the climate impact of their flights.

Our role

We are experts in developing carbon offset programmes for the aviation sector. With extensive experience delivering large-scale compliance programmes, we work with airlines to manage their future price and supply risk for complying with government legislation. Policy makers are drawing on our expertise to help shape the rules for global industry initiatives such as CORSIA to ensure its environmental integrity.

We are also the selected partner for IATA – the International Air Transport Association, which represents 290 airlines and 82% of air traffic – offering their members a turn-key customer offset solution. We operate and manage some of the largest customer carbon offset programmes in the world, and work with partners to develop bespoke programmes that meet their exact requirements.

Our communications experts can help you engage your customers and encourage behaviour change. We then deliver carbon reductions through projects that align with your business, for example those:

  • Using specific clean energy technologies
  • In locations that mean something to your business
  • That deliver important social or environmental impact

For larger clients, we can also create bespoke projects.
