Making the Polluters Pay: ClimateCare in The Times

Our CEO, Vaughan Lindsay, spoke about carbon pricing in The Times’ Raconteur Future of Energy report. The piece looks at the existing ways of pricing carbon: carbon taxes, emissions trading schemes, and voluntary carbon markets, and how they reduce emissions.
Vaughan explains that – alongside reducing emissions directly – carbon offsetting is the most cost-effective way to take action on climate change and, ultimately, pricing carbon is about changing behaviours:
“If you pollute something, but you don’t have to pay for it and somebody else picks up the bill, you’re never going to change.”
